Coach Elizabeth Villalpando
Meet Elizabeth Villalpando:
Founder and CEO of Exceptionally U
Elizabeth Villalpando has spent decades at the intersection of behavioral health, recovery, and human transformation — and she built Exceptionally U from that experience, not from theory.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Union Institute & University, with an academic focus on family dynamics, neuroscience, human development, and the biopsychosocial roots of mood and behavior. That foundation has carried her through work with organizations including Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA), National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Mental Health America, Neighborhood House Association/Head Start, Veteran services, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), District Attorney Reentry Roundtable, and Family Justice Center domestic violence programs — from grassroots peer support up through state and national policy work, included two years as Far South Regional Coordinator and a term as Project Director for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) under a California Network of Mental Health Clients (CNMHC) grant, totaling 3 years of service. She co-created Amikas House, transitional housing for otherwise homeless Veterans, and homeless women with children, and served two terms on a Narcotics Anonymous Board of Trustees. She was appointed to the Board of Trustees by the Narcotics Anonymous Fellowship Board of Directors to resolve internal service committee conflicts and financial disputes. There, she collaboratively reconstructed policy and operational structures to ensure lasting organizational stability and balance autonomously.
Elizabeth founded the Exceptionally U initiative, and is a partner to FQ3C, a behavioral assessment and development framework now used in both personal coaching and corporate workforce settings — helping individuals and teams move from self-doubt to self-mastery through evidence-based, systemic tools rather than quick fixes.
She brings something else to this work that can't be taught in a classroom: 32 years of her own continuous recovery. Elizabeth doesn't coach recovery and transformation from the outside looking in. She's walked the distance from crisis to purpose herself, and it shapes everything about how she works — direct, warm, honest, and fiercely committed to the belief that real support means helping people actually succeed, not just feel better temporarily. As she advises her clients:
"Intentionally knowing your purpose will define your priorities."
As a consultant, speaker, author, and playwright, Elizabeth has shared this work on stages, in boardrooms, and on air — and she's currently writing her autobiography, Material Time, alongside a chapter contribution, "A Tall Glass of Gratitude ~ Healing Chaos Through Sacred Connection," featured in the anthology An Apple a Day: Collective Wisdom for Your Body and Soul.
Her guiding philosophy, and the one she returns to most:
"If you do not master yourself, you will become a slave to yourself. With all our strengths, there is no weakness."
Elizabeth's mission is simple to state and demanding to live: give people back the freedom of self — removing the obstacles, internal and external, that stand between who they are now and who they're capable of becoming; and to give back the choice that addiction took away.

Let's Meet U
Every transformation starts with a conversation.
Some people know exactly what their goals are, and are seeking accountability.
Some are coming here because they want to figure them out.
Others simply want transformation.
I do things differently.
No pressure, no spam. The more you offer in the message, the better prepared we will be to make the most of our first meeting.
Your best version of U is waiting. Looking forward to our time together, whether we've met before or this is the first step together.
